This is your chance to launch a remote-friendly career in the fast-growing healthcare medical billing and coding field, and explore training courses with The Adecco Group US Foundation, in partnership with Cengage and powered by ed2go.
Whether you’re just starting out, or seeking a career change, this program is flexible and convenient, backed by a supportive network of fellow military spouses who will learn and grow alongside you!
What you’ll learn
- Medical terminology for understanding the human body’s structure and function
- Diseases and procedures common to each body system
- Legal and ethical guidelines, including HIPAA compliance and insurance claim filing rules
- Coding systems like ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS Level II
- Coding principles for diagnoses, services, and procedures

Career opportunities
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) projects an 8% job growth for medical billers and coders by 2029. This is twice the national average and translates to 29,000 new positions in just five years!
Medical billers and coders are vital for doctors to get paid – over one million physicians rely on their expertise! But that’s not all. This high demand career translates to remote work options in many cases, and opportunities exist beyond hospitals and clinics, including:
- Health insurers
- Specialty pharmacies
- Medical equipment suppliers
- Consulting firms
- National coding and billing companies
Eligibility
- Must be a military spouse residing in the US with a high school diploma or GED
- Must have strong digital and time management skills
- Must be able to demonstrate how this program will benefit your career
- Must be able to participate in a virtual interview
- Must have access to reliable internet (Wi-Fi) and a compatible computer with the required operating systems
- Must be available to commit to 20 hours per week of online and virtual learning from July 8th to November 25th, 2024
- Must be willing to join virtual community workshops offered to all program participants
